The midfielders 48 Million release clause comes into effect in June 2018

Keita underwent his Liverpool medical on Monday morning

He signed a 5-year contract effective from 1st July 2018

Liverpool have broken their transfer record by finally completing their long awaited move for RB Leipzig's dynamic midfielder Naby Keita for £48 Million which could rise up to £52 Million. But, the midfielder will join the club in June 2018 when his release clause will be effective.

Leipzig have rejected bids worth £66 Million from Liverpool in the past but their hands will be tied come June 2018. Keita himself was interested in a move to the club and is expected to wear the No.8 shirt previously worn by the great Steven Gerrard.

Keita has played for both sister clubs; RB Salzburg & RB Leipzig in his career. With Salzburg, he went on to make 81 appearances in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and assisting 11 times which was impressive.

For Leipzig, he made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring 9 goals & assisted 8 times. Last season was by far his most productive one, making 31 Bundesliga appearances, scoring 8 goals and 8 assists helping them finish 2nd in the table.

At the age of 22, Keita can be regarded as the best box-to-box player. He is energetic in all departments which will help Liverpool's objectives for the next season.

A problem would arise if Leipzig & Liverpool meet in any of the European knockout fixtures. If it does happen, no one knows whether Keita will be eligible to play against his current club.
