Italian Champions Juventus have signed France international midfielder Blaise Matuidi from PSG for a bargain fee worth 20 Million adding power to their midfield. He comes as an imminent arrival for Mario Lemina who left for Premier League club Southampton last week.
Matuidi is Juventus' 7th signing of the season coming at an important time after Juventus failed to put up a challenge in last season's Champions League final . They lacked dominance in central midfield but won't be a problem now.
In his PSG career, Matuidi made 295 appearances, scoring an impressive 33 goals and registering 30 assists which are fantastic numbers for a defensive midfielder. His Ligue 1 tally itself has come to an even 400 appearances.
For France, he has been an ever present midfielder alongside Paul Pogba winning 58 senior caps and scoring 9 goals.
Blaise is a powerful box to box player who will make threatening runs into Juventus' attacking half. He will score important goals for the club which will mostly arrive from set plays as he loves a poacher's goal.
Matuidi is left footed which is further encouraging for Juventus as their midfield now has right & left foot versatility. He is expected to partner Pjanic in a 3-5-2 formation but he can largely benefit if the club switches to a 4-5-1.
Matuidi's arrival is a smart piece of business completed by Juventus this season. He is exactly the signing the club needed and is ready to begin the season for his new club.
