Offensive dynamism
Mendy is perhaps one of the best offensive fullbacks
in Europe in Ligue 1 as well as the Champions League. He is a direct attacking
fullback with a lot of pace. With pace, he adds trickery down the left wing and
is a dream for any left winger to have to partner them in attack.
There are 2 strengths that he possesses; one would
be his ability to make runs beyond the winger and find himself in the perfect
position to put in the perfect cross into the box. Second would be his
assisting ability. If he could manage 11 last season, this season he may easily
end up as the defender with most assists in the Premier League.
Defensively sound
His defensive abilities are decent but sometimes due
to lack of concentration, he may not track the run of the attackers which may
cost the team a goal. But this season, he may improve his ability to track back
and be present at the right time to block the any potential threats.
Mendy’s transfer business is good news for both
sides. Man City was in dire need of a left back, and now have the best young
left back in Europe. On the other hand, Monaco has also made a huge profit of
more than £35 Million. His arrival is major boost for City’s title ambitions
this season as he will be an important player for them this season.
Wishing Mendy all the best with his Man City future!!! 😀✌️👌
