20 Best Premier League Transfers (Part 1)

The summer transfer window slammed shut on 31st August 2017, 11 pm in Britain. A number of Premier League clubs brought in key additions after splashing the cash, a few clubs unfortunately missed out on their targets.

Here, we have "Part 1" of the list of 20 Biggest and Most Important signings Premier League clubs made this summer depending on their importance to their club. They are ranked from 20 to 11.

20.
Nathaniel Chalobah
Defensive Midfielder
Arrived on 13th July, 2017
Signed for Watford
£6 Million fee

Ranking at 20 is possibly one of Watford's most important arrival this summer, Nathaniel Chalobah. At 22, the defensive enforcer has plenty of first team experience including Italian side Napoli with PL Champions Chelsea last season.

At £6 Million, Watford have snapped up an absolute bargain as he wasn't a part of Chelsea's first team plan. Chalobah has already made 3 starts in holding midfield, completing 270 minutes. Watford have picked up 5 points and Chalobah's form has earned him his first international call-up. The impressive British midfielder will help Watford escape relegation this season.

19.
Kurt Zouma
Central Defender
Arrived on 17th July, 2013
Signed for Stoke City
Season long loan

At 19, Kurt Zouma was a great acquisition for Stoke City even though its just for a single season. Zouma who is currently 22 may be regarded as the best young centre back in the Premier League but wasn't getting first team chances at Chelsea.

He temporarily decided to leave Chelsea to get experience and game time and perhaps make him part of Chelsea's starting XI for next season. Zouma has already made 3 starts in Stoke's 3 PL fixtures and will be an important addition to Mark Hughes' new 3 centre back system this season.

18.
Grzegorz Krychowiak
Defensive Midfielder
Arrived on 30th August, 2017
Signed for West Bromwich Albion
Season long loan

Grzegorz Krychowiak's arrival to West Brom was one of the most shocking transfers of the window. Ranked at 18th, the defensive midfielder who was out of favor at PSG last season made a surprise move to the Baggies.
Regardless of the surprise arrival, Krychowiak will suit manager Tony Pulis' defensive minded playing style this season. Once regarded the best holding midfielder in Europe, Krychowiak will steadily find his form and confidence with the club.

17.

Davinson Sanchez
Central Defender
Arrived on 23rd August, 2017

£36 Million fee

Davinson Sanchez, Tottenham's first signing of the window is perhaps the best arrival to the club. At just 21 years, he is already achieving great acclaim in Europe. He played for Ajax in the UEFA Europa League final last season.

Tottenham have a strong back 3 for the season, but with concerns regarding the future of centre back Toby Alderweireld, Sanchez can easily take his place. He is Tottenham's strong defensive signing for the present and the future.

16.
Wilfried Bony
Centre Forward
Arrived on 31st August, 2017
Signed for Swansea City
£12 Million

Swansea City had a fantastic transfer window with arrivals and departures & one of their surprise deadline day arrivals was former Swansea striker Wilfried Bony. He re-joined the club as a replacement for Fernando Llorente coming in 16th in the list.
Bony scored 35 goals in 70 appearances in his 18-month spell with the Swans. He is a fan favorite who will surely find his magical touch and help Swansea avoid relegation this season.

15.

Mamadou Sakho
Centre Back

Signed for Crystal Palace
£26 Million

Crystal Palace have had the worst possible start to the campaign than they could have imagined. They brought in just 4 arrivals, all defensive and have lost all 3 opening PL fixtures. However, Mamadou Sakho's arrival on deadline day will greatly help their defense.

Sakho spent half of last season on loan at Crystal Palace helping them escape relegation. In his 8 starts, Palace picked up 16 points as he kept 3 back-to-back clean sheets. At £26 Million, he hasn't come cheap but he's a solid addition to Frank De Boer's side.

14.
Michael Keane
Centre Back
Arrived on 3rd July, 2017
Signed for Everton
£26 Million

Everton's busy transfer window this season saw the high profile arrival of Michael Keane. The 24-year old comes in as a long term replacement for current Everton captain Phil Jagielka.

Keane was linked with a move to both Manchester clubs but Everton won the race signing him from Burnley. Keane started all of Everton's first 3 PL games and scored a goal in the Europa League qualifiers. The England international will relish the chance of playing for "The Toffees" this season.

13.
Renato Sanches
Central Midfielder
Arrived on 31st August, 2017
Signed for Swansea City
Season long loan

Swansea City pulled off a shock loan deal for Bayern Munich midfielder Renato Sanches this summer. Sanches who just moved to Bayern last summer failed to establish himself as a first team regular & Swansea beat off competition from a number of clubs including Manchester United & Liverpool for his signature.

The loan fee itself is a whopping £8.5 Million for one season. Sanches has won early promotion to Benfica, Bayern Munich & Portugal first teams. He was the best young player in Portugal's victorious Euro 2016 campaign last season. He is a real talent who will help Swansea avoid relegation this season.

12.
Ahmed Hegazy
Centre Back
Arrived on 17th July, 2017
Signed for West Bromwich Albion
Season long loan

West Brom manager Tony Pulis is known for his defensive mentality and chooses a perfect gem who isn't overvalued for his side. Ahmed Hegazy is one of them and is already making himself an established starter in the side.

The Egyptian has made 3 starts in central defense, scoring the winner on his PL debut and has kept 2 clean sheets keeping WBA undefeated on 7 points in the table. He has to be among the best central defensive buys this season and could move permanently next season.

11.
Harry Maguire
Centre Back
Arrived on 15th June, 2017
Signed for Leicester City
£12 Million rising to £17 Million

Former PL champions Leicester City barely escaped relegation last season and needed strengthening at the back. So, they decided to sign English centre back Harry Maguire from relegated Hull City for a potential £17 Million fee.

As Robert Huth is out injured, Maguire formed a strong partnership with Wes Morgan. He scored on his home debut for the Foxes in a 2-0 win and also was a strong figure in Leicester's away games against Arsenal & Man Utd this season. Maguire is a fantastic addition for Leicester this season and will keep on improving in that role.
