North London rivals Arsenal & Tottenham both picked up 3 points on the night after Liverpool were humiliated 5-0 by Man City. Brighton won their first ever competitive top-flight fixture.

Matchday 2 - Sunday

Sunday saw just 2 fixtures between the mid-table teams, the first at Turf Moor & the other at the Liberty stadium. Sunday's two goals takes this week's tally to 26 goals along with an impressive 6 clean sheets with one game left to play. Let's get to the action.

Fixture 8
Burnley (1-0) Crystal Palace
Scorer(s)
Chris Wood 3'

Crystal Palace were once again denied their first points of the season after an early Chris Wood goal handed Burnley all 3 points, putting manager Frank De Boer's job into serious trouble.

Chris Wood scored his second goal of the season in as many games after curling a shot beyond Wayne Hennessey to hand Burnley an early lead in the game.

Crystal Palace tried to score goals and missed very good chances in the game and couldn't put Burnley's resilient defense off guard.

This result has put Crystal Palace on 0 points after 4 games & manager Frank De Boer's job is under serious threat. There's a difficult run of fixtures coming forth Palace's way against tough PL sides and having lost winnable games, their chances to stay in the PL next season are also slowly starting to minimize.

Fixture 9
Swansea City (0-1) Newcastle United
Scorer(s)
Lacelles 76'

Swansea City's new signings failed to get them their first home win of the season after they slipped out to a late Newcastle United goal.

It was Newcastle captain Jamaal Lacelles who was the star performer on both ends as his headed goal in the 76th minute handed Newcastle their 2 consecutive PL win.

Swansea handed a debut start to new arrival to Renato Sanches who couldn't bring much on an impact and was replaced by another new arrival Wilfried Bony in the second half.

But, Newcastle put in a superb defensive display as Lacelles blocked an open goal shot by Tammy Abraham giving the club 6 points from their first 4 games.
