The Italian Super Cup fixture was an absolute cracker when last year's Serie A winners Juventus faced off against Italian Cup winners Lazio. There were surprises from both ends as the game concluded in dramatic fashion.

The formations of Juventus was slightly odd. They were expected to play with 3 centre backs but they played a disguised 4-2-3-1 as veteran centre back Andrea Barzagli began as the right back. Lazio began in their natural 3-5-2 shape.

Juventus' captain and goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon brought down Lazio striker Ciro Immobile and he scored from the resulting penalty to give Lazio the lead.

In the second half, Lazio's lead was doubled as a fine cross by Marco Parolo found Immobile who scored a fantastic looping header.

This resulted the Juventus manager to bring on offensive players and it payed off in the 85th minute when Paulo Dybala scored a gorgeous free kick.

With time running out and a panic Lazio defense brought down Alex Sandro inside the box and Dybala converted and leveled things up for Juventus. The comeback almost looked complete as the game was heading into extra time.

Although there was still time to write one last fairy tale ending as substitute Lazio midfielder Alessandro Murgia scored a 92nd minute winner, breaking Juventus hearts and winning the Super Cup for Lazio.
