Lyon completed the signing of Dutch fullback Kenny Tete from Ajax for a mere €4 Million. At 21, Tete is expected to be a part of the Lyon first team and is the 3rd high profile arrival behind Bertrand Traore & Mariano Diaz.
The fullback had been a part of the Ajax youth academy since the age of 12. Lyon have managed to fight off competition from the likes of Inter Milan, Juventus & Crystal Palace to poach another exiting young European talent.
For the Ajax first team, he made 55 appearances which is very impressive for a player who is just 21. His breakthrough performances were catching the eye of English giants Manchester United at one point.
Tete's versatility will be crucial for Lyon's ambitions this season. Primarily at Right back, Tete can also feature at Left back and Centre back. Lyon have lost two right backs Jordy Gaspar and Chirstophe Jallet this window and Tete's arrival makes him a good replacement.
He has already made 2 appearances for Lyon in Ligue 1 and recently scored in their weekend's 3-3 draw against Bordeaux. Playing at Lyon, he will soon develop into a fine right back for the future. All the best to him.
