He signed for the French side on the 26th of June 2017

Chelsea have inserted a buy-back clause in his contract

Olympique Lyon's first new arrival of the summer came from the English League after signing Chelsea's dynamic winger Bertrand Traore on a 5-year deal. He arrives as a replacement for Rachid Ghezzal who's contract ended last month.

Since signing for the Chelsea U-21 side, Traore has had just one full season with the first team, making 16 appearances and scoring 4 goals. Otherwise, his career has mainly developed through loan deals for Dutch sides Vitesse and Ajax.

For the Vitesse first team, he mainly played in the No.9 role, making 51 appearances, scoring 20 goals which is very impressive for a 19-year old.

Last season at Ajax, he starred in their 3-man attack, making 39 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals and reached the UEFA Europa League final.

He is left footed Right winger who is quick with pace and trickery and most importantly is a goal scorer. As opportunities at Chelsea were limited, making the switch to Lyon would hugely benefit his career. He has already made 3 appearances and earlier in the week scored his first goal for the club.

Traore will be a first team regular at Lyon if he manages to stay fit and doesn't pick up any lengthy injuries. Chelsea have smartly inserted a buy-back option into his contract and there is a big chance that they will re-sign him within a year or two. All the best for him with Lyon.
