Bundesliga Champions Bayern Munich made the deal official on 14th June 2017.

They added central midfield enforcer Corentin Tolisso to their star studded squad, signed from French club Lyon for an estimated €40 Million. Surprisingly, his transfer fee is Bayern Munich’s record transfer deal till date. Tolisso will replace legendary midfielder Xabi Alonso who retired last season.

But these performances in particular showed that he is ready to play at the highest level showing growth and potential. That’s the reason Bayern came for him and made the highest convincing Lyon to sell. Though the deal would be expensive for a 22 year old but in the coming years, it may be recognized as the bargain deal this window.

First choice at Bayern: 

Bayern Munich have a lot of competition for a place in central midfield. It will be difficult for him to break the partnership between Kimmich, Thiago and Vidal in Bayern’s 3-man midfield. This season, Tolisso may not be a regular starter for the club but the manager will rotate him well. As their only holding midfield player, he needs to first focus his defensive qualities to guarantee his central midfield status.
