Report:

The 2016/17 English Premier League season has concluded and the upcoming 3 months awaits anticipation for transfers made by all the top European Clubs. Manchester City haven't waited for long to announce their first major arrival this summer by signing Bernardo Silva.......

2016/17 Performance:

Bernardo Silva is one of the rising stars in the footballing world today. He has had an impressive campaign with French side AS Monaco by helping them win the Ligue 1 combining it with an outstanding Champions League campaign by making it to the semi final stage by defeating Borussia Dortmund and the side he has joined now, Manchester City against whom he was impressive. That's the reason Man City manager Pep Guardiola didn't wait long and snapped him up as soon as the 2016/17 EPL season concluded. He would have moved to a top European side this summer but Guardiola made sure to fed off competition from other potential suitors.

Come the end of the transfer window and the end of the 2017/18 season, he will still be the best player that Guardiola would have bought in for this season. He can even win the PFA Young Player of the Year for 2017/18 season if he continues his fine form.

What can he bring?
  • Left footed player who prefers playing as a Right Winger
  • Can cut on his stronger side to score and assist goals
  • Can also play as a No.10
  • Possess agility
  • A very good dribbler
  • A pretty good long ranger shooter
  • Can pick out a pass
  • Skillful with a box of tricks
  • Adds some defensive qualities also
Any Drawbacks?

Regarding the player, nothing at all, he is a great addition to the squad. But one problem which may arise would be selection and game time. He would want to be a regular starter but Pep will use him mainly for big games and rest him when there is a mid-week CL game. Man City have a number of quality players in their side. They mainly play with a 4-1-4-1 or sometimes a 3-4-2-1.

So, they have David Silva, De Bruyne, Sterling, Sane, Jesus, Aguero and now Bernardo Silva!
A lot of quality but all players cannot start in the same starting XI. But the manager is very good in squad rotation and will do the same as per the upcoming match.

So to conclude, a fantastic player to have for Man City and in the EPL. All the best to him and hope he performs well for Man City this season ðŸ˜€
