Transfer Fee: £26 Million

Mamadou Sakho has completed his long awaited exit from Liverpool to a club he knows all to well "Crystal Palace". The defender who spent his last half season on loan with the Eagles has now sealed a permanent transfer for £26 Million.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp didn't include Sakho a part of his first team plans this season even though the club are short on defenders. But they didn't budge on Sakho's asking price and have got a very good fee for a player they no longer needed.

Sakho was a part of the PSG youth academy, making 151 appearances for the first team, scoring 7 goals & winning a Ligue 1 title in his time with the club.

After moving to Liverpool in 2013, he made 80 appearances, scoring 3 goals but couldn't establish a spot in the starting XI.

Last season, he moved to Crystal Palace in January on deadline day until the end of the season on loan. He made 8 appearances which vitally kept the Eagles in the top flight. He also registered 3 back-to-back clean sheets in his first three starts.

Sakho is a powerful defender who has all the defensive qualities a modern centre back should have. He is first to win long balls, gets himself in the perfect position to block a shot on goal and looked very confident last season.

It may have not worked out at Liverpool, but at Palace he looked a changed player last season and expects to do the same now. The only change would be the new 3-centre back formation which will need adaptation. But, Sakho's arrival will bring reliability & steadiness to the Palace defense for the season. All the best to him.
