Tottenham have signed Ivory Coast full back Serge Aurier from PSG for a reported £23 Million. He arrives as a replacement for Kyle Walker who was sold to Man City earlier this transfer window.
Aurier was expected to sign with Manchester United but they dropped interest in the player. He was 3rd choice in PSG's defense this season; behind summer arrival Dani Alves & Thomas Munier.

In 2014, he had an impressive loan deal with PSG which prompted the club to sign him permanently. In 3 seasons, he has made 81 appearances, scoring 5 goals with 15 assists. The assist record itself explains his contribution to the forward line after winning the Ligue 1 title on 2 occasions.

Tottenham play with the wing back system and Aurier would be perfect player to be deployed in that dynamic role. He is very quick to get involved in attack as well as track back to defend. However, he will have stiff competition from Kieran Trippier for a first team spot.

One thing that the manager will have to look into would be Aurier's disciplinary issues on and off the pitch. Last season, he was given a 2-month suspended jail sentence for assaulting an officer. He is also the most likeliest player to receive a red card on the pitch if he loses his temper.

Although, Aurier may be a controversial figure, he will bring a new dynamism to the Spurs defense. The player himself has described the move as a fresh start for him. He is a quality addition to the side and the manager needs to use him well in the PL & UCL. All the best to him.
