⚽ **TRANSFERS: English Premier League 2017/18** ⚽

Rising Star Goalkeeper

Player: Ederson Moraes
Age: 23 years
Position: Goalkeeper

To: Manchester City
From: SL Benfica

Estimated Fee:  £35 Million (  €40 Million)

Report:

Manchester City has made another vital addition to their squad for the upcoming season. The club has finally announced the signing of Brazilian Goalkeeper Ederson from Portuguese club Benfica on a long term contract as their new No.1. The transfer fee is the highest fee ever paid for a goalkeeper in the world.

Club Statistics:
  • Benfica’s first choice keeper last season
  • Has Champions League experience
  • 58 first team appearances
  • Managed an impressive 32 clean sheets

Ederson’s Potential:

  • A young keeper with a bright future ahead
  • First choice goalkeeper in the coming years for club and country
  • A brilliant shot stopper
  • Can also pick out a brilliant long range pass
  • Is effective in one on one situations
  • Will get better with age

Any drawbacks:

For him, as a player there would be none. He will settle into life in England soon and get used to the Premier League. But the future of existing Man City goalkeeper Claudio Bravo is in doubt. Willy Caballero has already been released by the club and Bravo will be next. Ederson will be in line to replace Bravo as Man City's new first choice keeper and there would be no room for anyone else to take this role away from him.

Conclusion:

To sum it up, he is a very good player, needs to settle in quickly in England and also prove that he is worth that transfer fee Man City have paid for him.

All the best to him and his future with the club!!!
